A strange event happened a couple of days ago. It started as a normal Spring day in Berih, when suddenly a bright flash of white light momentarily blinded the eyes of it's residents. The strange thing about this light was that it penetrated through walls and even to the Dwarves under ground.

When sight returned, most noticed something odd, the sky seemed a deeper shade of blue that no one had seen before. News also came that the barrier that surrounded Berih had vanished! People began to panic and theories of the end of the world, a great attack from some unknown monster and many other crazier theories began to sprout.

People also noticed that there was a giant beam of light sprouting out in the distance. It was obvious that the light wasn't any where near Berih and was far beyond the boarders of where their barrier once was.

King Derekius of Salmihen addressed the public about this terrifying new realization. In hopes of calming their worries, he announced that we should not worry about the barrier vanishing and that we might have gained freedom - this could be a blessing.

Derekius summoned a meeting with the other Kings of Berih on this matter and to discuss what actions should be taken. All agreed that it might be best to investigate this new frontier - but cautiously. They would sail their best ships from Deoweiyr Port to see what beyond their boarders and possibly solve the mystery of the beam of light.
